In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all dogs presented for grooming must be maintained in a manner that meets their five welfare needs.
Dogs with severely matted, compacted, or neglected coats may experience pain, restricted movement, skin damage, overheating, and behavioural stress. Such conditions constitute a welfare concern. For this reason, the dog’s physical and emotional wellbeing will always take priority over cosmetic appearance or owner preference.
Grooming frequency must be appropriate to the dog’s breed, coat type, lifestyle, and condition.
Where matting is present, necessary clip-offs may be required to relieve discomfort and prevent further suffering.
Dematting that would cause pain, distress, or injury will not be carried out. Your dog’s comfort comes first.
Breed-standard or aesthetic styles cannot be guaranteed on dogs whose coats are not maintained between grooms.
Owners remain legally responsible for their dog’s welfare at all times. By booking, you acknowledge the following.
Coat neglect may require changes to the agreed groom. We will always discuss options with you.
Short or clipped styles may be necessary for welfare reasons, even if a different style was originally requested.
Groomers may refuse or modify services that compromise animal welfare. This is for your dog’s safety and wellbeing.
Our groomers are professionally obligated to act in the best interests of the dog and will not carry out procedures that may cause unnecessary suffering, regardless of appearance or owner request.
